If you are experiencing an issue with xeMini's SOLAR FEATURE:
xeMini was not designed or intended to be marketed as a "solar charger." It can trickle-charge with sunlight, but this was only meant to serve as a secondary bonus feature; the most efficient way to recharge xeMini is via a wall outlet, car charger or computer.
The primary purpose of xeMini is to allow you to take backup power with you wherever you go so that you're not stranded with a dead phone and no access to an outlet.
*** If the GREEN
"LIGHT ASSISTED POWER" INDICATOR LIGHT illuminates when the panel makes contact with strong sunlight, xeMini's solar panel is very likely working. The Light Assisted Power indiciator light is the right-hand light of the two lights located on the face of the charger, just below and to the left of the solar panel.
*** When the "CHARGE STATUS" INDICATOR LIGHT illuminates RED once the panel comes into contact with strong sunlight, it means the light source is strong enough for xeMini's solar panel to absorb and store it to use later to charge your devices. The Charge Status indiciator light is the left-hand light of the two lights located on the face of the charger, just below and to the left of the solar panel.
It takes 13 hours of strong, direct, outdoor sunlight to recharge xeMini just with the sun, and you must initially charge the battery via an outlet if it arrives completely discharged as solar is not strong enough to jump-start a totally dead battery.
These limitations actually do not suggest any defect, but are entirely due to the small surface area of the panel. For its size and price range, it's the best panel available -- the technology as it stands right now just dictates that you'd need a much bigger panel to be able to charge as quickly and efficiently as you're used to with more standard power sources like an outlet.
