Answers:Q: Is the dash of my car a good place for my charger to get some sunlight?
A: PLEASE NOTE: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should a solar battery pack be left charging on a car dashboard or other surface likely to get extremely hot as the ambient temperature can exceed 220 degrees F. Plus there is very little solar energy available due to solar scattering through the windshield. Please refer to your charger's manual for further information.
A: If the battery cover on your χeMini is sticking, you likely purchased an early model whose battery door did indeed utilize an older design. You may need to apply a great deal of pressure to remove these covers. In the event that the latch on the cover breaks, please contact Revolve by email (support at revolveusa dot com) or phone (800.693.0068) and we will gladly mail you a new cover right away.
A: Our chargers are all compatible with over 3,000 electronics devices, ranging from cell phones to cameras and in some cases all the way up to tablet PCs like iPad (χeMilo and χeMax) and even laptops (χeMax).
A: Yes, χeMini works perfectly with both iPod and iPhone. Simply use the cable included with your iPhone or iPod to connect to the χeMini.
A: The input power required to charge the iPad is 5V DC, 2A. This 2A requirement is greater than the 1.2A output of the χeMini. Consequently, the χeMini is not compatible with the iPad. However, the brand new χeMilo is now shipping and has a 4,400mA internal battery that is definitely robust enough to work perfectly with iPad and many other tablet PCs!
A: Yes, you can recharge our chargers from your laptop. Simply connect the charger to your laptop’s USB input with a USB cable and check that the RED charge indicator light (located on the face of the χeMini and χeMilo) is illuminated – you’re now charging.
A: To charge external devices, connect a USB cable to one of the charger’s power outputs. The two power outputs on the χeMini, for example, are capable of delivering up to 1.2 Amps of power to your external devices. The outputs on the χeMilo are capable of delivering up to 2 Amps of power.
A: Most devices capable of connecting to our chargers already come with the USB cable and/or the adapter you will need. If not, these cables and adapters are widely available in stores. To avoid giving you cables and connectors that you may already have or may not need, we elected not to include them with most of our chargers (the forthcoming χeMax will include nine adapter tips out of necessity). Reducing waste is a fundamental goal of Revolve Electronics.
A: Absolutely. If you connect an external device to your χeMini, for example, while it is either plugged into an AC outlet, connected to a car charger or computer, sitting in the sun, or any combination of the above, both the χeMini and your external device will be charging.
A: In very brightly lit rooms, you may have enough light energy to trickle-charge your χeMini or χeMilo. To determine if your charger is generating Light Assisted Power®, check the charge status lights on the front of the charger. If the green light is illuminated, you are creating power. If the green and red lights are both illuminated, then you are both creating power and storing power for future use.
A: There are many variables that will affect the amount of time required to charge up the battery inside the χeMini and χeMilo with nothing but Light Assisted Power®. The strength of the light source, the angle of incidence, and the duration of the exposure will all impact the time required.
A: Our proprietary battery design features advanced lithium-ion technology to ensure a minimum of 500 charge cycles. Under normal use conditions, the battery will last 2 to 3 years. Plus, it will safely store energy for many months.
